MSE 2020 - Registration and Cancellation Conditions

The General Terms and Conditions  and the data protection regulation of the DGM e.V. apply. Further conditions regarding the event MSE 2020 can be found below.

Conditions of registration

By participating in the event in any form, you agree to the publication of your name and provided profile data on our websites and printed materials.

Congress Ticket

The congress ticket includes (unless stated otherwise):

  • Access to the lecture program
  • Access to the poster exhibition of the MSE 2020
  • Access to the side-events
  • The catering package*

Catering Package*
As a registered society, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Materialkunde e.V. (German Materials Society) does not charge VAT on its participation fees according to § 4 No. 22 UStG. However, we are legally obliged to charge 19% VAT on the catering part of the participation fee. Logistically and legally it is not possible to exclude the catering package from your participation.

For Presenting Authors

In order to submit a submission, a participation ticket must be booked. For your submission to be considered and published, the invoice has to be paid.

If your submission is not accepted or if the type of submission is changed during the selection process (e.g. from a lecture to a poster), you can cancel your participation free of charge. This has to be anounced to the congress office within two weeks after receiving feedback. Your participation fee will be refunded in full and free of charge.

The cancellation deadlines for authors are:

  • Cancellation within two weeks after you have received feedback on your contribution and it has been cancelled or the contribution type has been changed - free of charge.
  • Cancellation before 1 April 2020 – 50 EUR
  • Cancellation between 1 April and 1 June 2020 – 50% of the participation fee
  • Cancellation from 1 June 2020 – 100% of participation fee

If you cannot attend the event, the ticketholder can be changed in advance by contacting the congress office.

For participants (without submissions)

After your registration, you will receive an invoice that must be paid within two weeks. The cancellation conditions are:

  • Cancellation before 1 May – 50 EUR
  • Cancellation between 1 May and 1 August 2020 – 50% of the participation fee
  • Cancellation from 1 August 2020 – 100% of participation fee

If you cannot attend the event, the ticketholder can be changed in advance by contacting the congress office.


Reduced Registration Fees for DGM members

Personal DGM-Member

The reduced registration fee is available as booking option to all personal members of the DGM in the registration process.

Employees from Firms and Institutes with a DGM Membership

If you are an employee of a DGM company or institute member, you are entitled to a 5% discount of the regular participation fee.

To get receive this reduction:

  • Please make sure that your institute / company is a member of DGM. If possible, ask for the membership number of your institute / company.
  • Send an e-mail with the membership number of your institute / company and your full name to: mse@mse-congress.de
  • The MSE organisation team will process your booking.
